Release Notes (18 Juni, 2014):

Premium Member Pocket Queries make a leap forward in two words: More and Easier.

• More: Now Premium Members will be able to download twice as many Pocket Queries a day, from 5 to 10 PQ's a day.
• Easier: All PQ's deliver a new custom email with a direct link to download the PQ in one click. Users must be logged into Geocaching.com to download the file directly.

With this update we're retiring the older system of including attachments for PQ's with 500 or fewer results.

We've also reverted the change from "Unknown" to "Mystery" in GPX files, meaning that "?" caches will display and filter properly in those applications and devices that could not handle the terminology change.

This release also increased performance to a new email system.

We're excited to announce that the new Search tool is now available to all Geocaching members. It's faster, easier to use and helps you find the exact adventure you want—and it's all thanks to the geocaching community. Geocaching Premium members took a sneak peek at the new tool and we appreciate all the feedback and suggestions we've received to date!

 

Go ahead and take it for a spin by searching for Pi Day events and Mystery Caches near you so you can earn your Pi Day souvenirs on March 14.

 

While you’re at it, be sure to test drive some of our favorite searches:

• Find the Mystery Caches you have solved, but not yet found.
• Plan a geocache outing with your geocaching buddies.
• Find the most Favorited geocaches in your area.
• Find geocaches in your state with the D/T combination that you need to complete your Fizzy Grid.

And don’t worry. We know you’re excited to download these powerful searches to your GPS device and/or sync them with the Geocaching app. (We are 100% with you there!) Our team will be working hard on building this functionality into the Search tool in the near future.

And speaking of new upgrades to Geocaching.com, check out the new Hide a Geocache page. It’s designed to be more helpful for new geocache hiders and streamlined for seasoned geocachers.

Release notes 25 maart 2015

 

The addition of the new geocache search and Hide a Geocache page gave us an opportunity to think about how players navigate Geocaching.com. We found that most players who visit the website want to either learn about geocaching, play the game, gear up, or connect with the de buren geocaching community. The new navigation should help guide you to find exactly what you're looking for — and leave the hunting around for when you're in the field!

 

What's new:

 

How do I access My Profile?

Click on your geocaching username or your profile image. This will take you to My Profile where you can access Lists, Geocaches, Trackable Items, Souvenirs, and more.

 

How do I access Account Settings?

Look for the gear icon in the drop down under your username.

 

Why is the font different on the website?

You have good eyes! In the name of consistency, we updated the font to be the same across Geocaching.com.

 

Oh no! My geocaching scripts aren't working anymore. When will you fix these?

These scripts are made and maintained by members of the geocaching community, not by Geocaching HQ. Occasionally, updates like this will stop them from working. Usually, the geocachers who own and maintain the scripts are quick to fix them. Thanks for being patient!

Zoals ik het nu zie, is die nieuwe zoek functie niet zo slecht, als je alle caches in een bepaald gebied zoekt. Je vult een plaats of een Gc-code in als centrum en klikt daarna op "Change Filters" om extra opties te kiezen. Wat ik wel mis, is een optie om deze lijst te saven in een *.gpx file.

We’ll be the first to admit it: contacting other geocachers hasn’t always been the easiest thing to do on Geocaching.com. We heard your feedback and that’s why we’ve created the brand new Message Center beta.

With this new feature, you can send and receive messages from Geocaching.com. It’s still in beta testing, which is why we’d love your feedback for the final release. After you send a few messages, fill out this survey and tell us what you think.

Features include:

• Access the Message Center from the new envelope icon in the header
• Start a new one-to-one conversation with another geocacher
• Send an image (and you can even drag and drop the image into the Message Center!)
• URLs will automatically hyperlink in messages
• GC and TB codes will automatically hyperlink in messages
• Check “Press Enter to Send” to default send by pressing the “Enter” button
• Hide message threads from view in the Message Center
• Block another geocacher’s messages from appearing in your Message Center
• Receive email notifications about new messages

Note: The Send Email to User feature will continue to exist for the foreseeable future.

Volgens mij heb ik een nieuwtje gemist of het is vers van de pers.

Valt het jullie ook op dat de kaartsytemen zijn veranderd op geocaching.com en dat google maps niet meer als ondergrond geselecteerd kan worden?

Is er een manier om weer luchtfoto's op je cache kaart te krijgen?

Bedoel je de keuzes uit de kaarten onderaan de cachepagina?

Die staat er bij mij gewoon bij en is bruikbaar.

Ja precies, die werken bij mij ook nog gewoon.

Nee, die keuze heb ik ook maar dan zie je alleen die ene cache als druppel op de kaart. Bij het totaal overzicht (geocaching.com map) krijg ik rechtsbovenin een logo met een stapel documenten, daar klik je op en krijg je een waslijst aan kaarttypen, maar geen luchtfoto's meer.

ik zit momenteel in chrome, misschien is dat het??

 

Nee, dat is het niet, explorer geeft hetzelfde beeld.

Ik heb dat ook hoor. Alleen bij een enkele cache is google maps een optie bij de overzichtskaart niet meer.

Dus dat is nieuw........wie heeft de update gezien bij Groundspeak?

Als je klikt op de groene knop "kaartvoorkeuren" kun je wel de Google kaart kiezen.
