Dat stukje text kan ik hier niet vinden, staat die ook in het .txt bestandje? In het bestandje "geocache_logs.xml" staan trouwens weer wel de goede logtijden.

Dank je voor het antwoord, zoiets had ik al verwacht. Het is geen groot probleem als je weet dat het precies 2 uur/1 uur is, maar toch zou het leuk zijn als het zou passen met de tijden. Edit. Ik zie net dat het bestandje wel gewoon om 17:55 als laatst is bewerkt, gisteren om 16:55 dus.

Als ik een cache log dan hou ik ook altijd de tijd bij en verwerk dat dan ook in een database. Nu schreef ik altijd de log tijden op, maar nu zie ik dat het ook in het "geocache_visits.txt" op de Montana wordt bijgehouden als je de cache logt op de Montana. Nu valt me op dat de tijden niet kloppen, er zit 2uur verschil in. Heb gisteren een cache gelogd om 16:53uur en het bestandje geeft aan van 14:55uur. De tijd op de Montana klopt gewoon, heeft iemand er een verklaring voor waarom de tijden verschillen?

Even verderop is het een Mapsource kaart: Als het een MapSource-versie is, dus een map met meerdere bestanden erin, dan moet de kaart worden geinstalleerd in MapSource. MapSource is een pc-programma waarmee je kaarten (en ook delen van een kaart) kunt exporteren naar je Garmin. MapSource/MapInstall is dus in dat geval echt nodig om de kaart te kunnen laten werken. Als het 1 bestand is, dus een *.img, dan kun je die (mits hij is geunlocked) direct op je Garmin plaatsen met als naam gmapsupp.img. Hoe heb je de kaart nu op je Garmin geplaatst dan, hoe ben je precies te werk gegaan? Op intern of op uSD geinstalleerd? Zonder meer info is het moeilijk te zeggen hoe je de kaart kunt installeren zodat hij gaat werken.

Gisteren een aantal caches binnengehaald zonder foutmeldingen. Denk dat het probleem is verholpen, zie ook de link in het berichtje van DanPan hierboven.

Ik gebruik zelf de topokaarten voor het cachen en inderdaad ook de open fietskaart, maar ben wat aan het experimenteren en vroeg me gewoon af of iemand hier al verder mee was gekomen.

Probeer al een tijdje een soort "kopie" van googlemaps/earth op mijn Montana te krijgen, maar het lukt nog niet echt. Heb geprobeerd m.b.v afbeeldingen van googlemaps (jpg), Paint, Paintshop, en dan een overlay te maken in google earth en het geheel naar de Montana te sturen. Dat lukt ook wel in een kmz bestand, maar het is nogal wat werk omdat je ver moet inzoomen bij het maken van de jpg. Zoom je verder uit dan is het geheel niet meer echt duidelijk in de Montana. Dan het birdseye verhaal is misschien ook wel wat, maar wil eerst andere mogelijkheden proberen. Heeft iemand zich daar al eens mee bezig gehouden?

Probeer dan eens het aangemaakte GPX-bestandje (die op je Garmin staat) in BaseCamp te laden. Zie je dan de geocaches wel, dan kun je uitsluiten dat het aan het aangemaakte GPX-bestandje ligt. Heb soms wel eens bij mijn Montana dat hij een deel van de geocaches niet ziet die ik heb overgedragen met GSAK, maar als ik ze dan weer verwijder en er nog eens opzet gaat het wel goed.

Vandaag wilde ik weer eens via GSAK - Geocaching.com API toegang - eens weer de caches hier uit de buurt ophalen, maar ineens stopt hij met ophalen van de caches en krijg ik een "stored search not found" foutmelding. Als ik het een 2e keer doe dan krijg ik waar hij voorheen is gestopt de melding "Vorige verzoek eindigde in een fout, nu wordt een nieuwe poging gedaan". Hij gaat dan ook iets verder, maar stopt dan weer met dezelfde fout. Bij de Montana is het zo dat als je er een nieuwe kaart bij op zet, dat hij dan direct staat aangevinkt bij alle profielen. Zodra je er dus een nieuwe kaart op zet, moet je alle profielen langs om de kaart uit te zetten waar je hem niet gebruikt.

Heb je wel de nieuwste firmware erop? Doet hij dat bij alle caches? Heb zelf geen Oregon, maar ik zou gewoon eens 1 cache in de gps laden en dan gaan proberen. Hier dan nog even mijn ervaring met de Montana. Na de Garmin Etrex Legend HCx moest er eens wat anders komen en het liefst iets wat ook goed in de auto te gebruiken is. Nu viel het oog op de Montana, omdat die het zelfs op de motor goed zou doen. Het eerste wat me opviel is dat de Montana toch wel groot is vergeleken met de Legend , maar daar wen je snel aan. Wat gewoon ideaal is, is het snel overschakelen naar de verschillende profielen zonder "de plaats van bestemming" te verliezen. Snel voor de Montana een fietshoudertje gekocht zodat ik hem op de fiets kan gebruiken,maar ook ff op de motor kan testen. Heb zelf een Zumo660 op de motor en het fietshoudertje van de Montana past zo op de rammount van de Zumo, ideaal dus . In de auto (met autohoudertje) is de Montana ook ideaal, alleen mis ik wel TMC. Heb diverse TMC-ontvangers geprobeerd, maar werd niet ondersteund. Wat ik ook mis is, is het importeren van eigen waarschuwingsgeluiden (b.v. stemmen) bij flitspalen. Jammer is ook dat de eigen Garmin-cyclops-flitspalen niet worden ondersteund op de Montana, dus hier moet je dan voor de SCDB-flitspalen gaan. (als je er flitsmeldingen op wilt) Voor het geocachen is de Montana ideaal en zit er een wereld van verschil tussen de Legend HCx en de Montana. Alle info gelijk bij de hand en het kan "bijna" allemaal papierloos. En voor het "bijna" verwijs ik dan ff naar hier: http://forum.geocaching.nl/index.php?showtopic=20954 Op de fiets doet hij het ook super, alleen vind ik het jammer dat Garmin een beetje achterblijft met de topo- en fietskaart voor de BeNeLux. Dit zijn mijn bevindingen tot nu toe en ik moet zeggen dat het "net" geen Nuvi is en "net" geen Zumo, maar al met al een goede en overzichterlijke navigatie.

Bedankt voor je antwoord Zo doe ik het inderdaad nu ook, dus de 2e waypoint zoeken en dan verder. Omdat bij mijn voorbeeld de formule voor de eindcache niet in de listing staat maar bij de final-waypoint, zie ik die formule dus niet op de Montana en dan vind je hem natuurlijk nooit omdat die coordinaten nog niet bekent zijn. Het zou ideaal zijn als je "naar volgend punt" zou kiezen, dat je daar de waypoints zou zien die bij de multi horen. Garmin heeft met de Montana een grote stap in de goede "cache" richting gedaan, maar dit is inderdaad een stap die nog moet worden aangepast om de boel papierloos te kunnen maken. Ik zal ook nog even een mail naar Garmin sturen hierover, misschien als er meer mensen dit probleem aankaarten dat ze er toch wel iets in zien.

Heb een Montana 650 en gebruik hem voor auto, motor en geocachen. Ik haal de caches via GSAK van geocaching.com en zet ze ook d.m.v. GSAK op mijn Montana. Nu is de vraag, hoe doen jullie dat met multi-caches? Als ik navigeer naar een multi-cache dan gaat alles goed, alleen WP2 dan te vinden gaat via omwegen. Kaart bekijken, waar ligt WP2 en dan opnieuw navigeren naar WP2. Gaat dat niet ergens gemakkelijker, want soms is het echt zoeken naar WP2 op de kaart. Als er dan meerdere WP`s zijn, dan is het echt zoeken... Had gehoopt dat hij bij "ga naar volgende" naar het volgende WP zou gaan, maar niet dus. Je moet coordinaten invoeren,dus nog omslachtiger als zoeken naar het WP op de kaart. Leuk voorbeeld: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC3VVHJ Als ik deze via GSAK op de Montana zet, dan geeft hij de final niet aan en dus ook niet waar de cache is te vinden. De info "De cache is te vinden op: N 52. 59.Y E 007.06.Z staat er dus domweg niet bij. Ik ben dus nog steeds afhankelijk van "onderweg internet" en daar wilde ik juist zoveel mogelijk van af. Toen we begonnen met cachen waren we met een tablet, auto-gps, cache-gps, papierwerk en mobieltje onderweg en daarom heb ik juist een Montana gekocht om al die dingen niet meer mee te hoeven slepen en ook zelf tijd te hebben voor zoeken Doe ik iets verkeerd, is er een andere mogelijkheid of hoe lossen jullie dit op met multi´s?

Ik weet dat deze vraag al een tijdje geleden is gesteld, maar ben toch even nieuwsgierig of dit is opgelost. Vind het een rare zaak en heb er zo geen oplossing voor, maar wat gebeurt er als je het gpx-bestand in bijvoorbeeld MapSource of BaseCamp laadt? Ben benieuwt of je de caches dan wel op de kaart ziet die je mist in de Montana. Staan de verloren caches ook niet onder "gevonden caches" in het menu van de Montana? Niet dat ze als "gevonden" gemarkeerd zijn. Ik gebruik zelf een Montana 650, maar heb dit nog niet gehad.
