Gast KiteGuy Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Hi sorry for not talking Dutch here but I might be able to speak my little holiday Dutch but I will not be able to ask my question regarding geocaching, so I appologize again for speaking english I had a, as it seems, unusual idea for a cache and I am not sure if it is possible to approve this, so I thought I might ask the people who will have to do this. I will spend my summer holiday on my favourite north sea island and so I will bring my DeWaard tent for a nice 3 week camping trip. I had the idea to make my tent a geocacher meeting point for this time. The cache would be a micro I want to scout out when I am on the island for new year with my family. This micro will be placed in summer at the found and measured coordinates and will then contain the coordinates of my tent where there will be a logbook and a tradingbox available (and a beer if I am there ) Question is: What kind of cache is this ? It is physically a multicache but only for three weeks, so it is more a event cache. Any chance of getting something like this approved ? Thanks for your time KiteGuy
Team Professor X Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Geplaatst 22 december 2004 (bewerkt) Question is:What kind of cache is this ? It is physically a multicache but only for three weeks, so it is more a event cache. Any chance of getting something like this approved ? Yes, it's more an event cache then a "normal" micro cache. Because it's for only one year. After approval by Hawkeyes (Dutch approver) you set the cache in "temporary unavailable" untill your De Waard tent has arrived on the island (which Waddeneiland?). Now you can make a description for your cache and put it on the site www.geocaching.nl . Make sure you're intentions are real and write you're idea on the approval so Hawkeyes will make a good decision. GRTZ. teammember E. deBruineBeren Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Geplaatst 22 december 2004 I’m not the expert Hawkeyes is, but these are the problems I see. If you make it a micro cache, single or multi it will not be approved because it’s a holyday cache. Holyday caches are not approved unless you can proof that you are able to maintain the cache if needed. If you make it a cache that is not all way available it will not get approved, the intention must be that the cache is available most of the time. So it look’s like it has to be an event cache. But correct me if I’m wrong, there has to be cache left when the event is over. In this cache there will be but for this you will not get permission (see first two points).
Gast KiteGuy Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Hi, thanks for your answers so far I just want to make clear that this cache will only be available for the three weeks I am on my vacation at this spot. So the reason a holiday cache is prohibited doesn´t count here as I will be available to maintain the cache as long as it is here And I will go to Texel, my favourite Island in the north sea
Lex en Leo-team Geplaatst 22 december 2004 Geplaatst 22 december 2004 And I will go to Texel, my favourite Island in the north sea <{POST_SNAPBACK}> great idea! As a frequent Texel visitor i will surely pay you a visit. Every summer i stay at family for a couple of days. I already made them enthousiastic geocachers, so no problem hunting for this one! Alex

Troostje je ZC, ik moet beide feestdagen ook werken. Ik ben pas vrij op oudjaarsmorgen om 06:00 en na een bezoekje aan de shower ga ik dan naar huis. If you need any assistance on the island just mail me, I live there. And you can also expect me to be the first cacher to show up at your tent.
Gast KiteGuy Geplaatst 23 december 2004 Geplaatst 23 december 2004 Thanks for all your answers, really great to see the response on my idea ! Even if the answeres contain shower cells and paint I get the feeling that my "hey, lets get two visits in 3 weeks" idea is going to get a little bit bigger, but I don´t care if it does. I will just need to buy more beer and buy another chair . I will let you know if I can manage to get this started with the approver @ S@NL - Tex (SST) I wondered when some Texeler geocachers would show up. I have been to the island more often than I am years old (nearly thirty) and know my ways round. Well, most of them anyway, but thanks for the offer I will be visiting all Texeler caches (so I hope) between December 31st and January 2nd, so perhaps I will find a note from you anyway See you latest in summer at my tent
Lex en Leo-team Geplaatst 23 december 2004 Geplaatst 23 december 2004 II will be visiting all Texeler caches (so I hope) between December 31st and January 2nd, so perhaps I will find a note from you anyway <{POST_SNAPBACK}> this is exactly the same period i will stay at Texel and will do a cachecheck for Zeehond, looking forward to read your log Alex
