Cache Along A Route?

Ik probeer als premium gc.com lid caches langs een route middels een pocket query te vinden. Maar hoe maak ik de file (.gpx / .kml) om de route te beschrijven? Als ik die eenmaal heb komt het wel goed...

Als ik in Mapsource een route maak, via wegen, en die als gpx opsla, en die route weer in gc.com inlees via pocket query, cache along a route, dan zie ik alleen een rechte lijn tussen begin en eind, niet via de wegen die ik wel in mapsource zie. Wat doe ik fout?

1. Download, install, and run Google Earth

2. Click on the Directions tab in the upper left-hand corner of the page

Trouwens, net ontdekt dat die kml file uit Google Earth ook in GSAK als filter gebruikt kan worden. Heb je helemaal geen pocket query meer nodig als de route door een gebied loopt waarvan je de caches toch al in GSAK hebt.

Trouwens, net ontdekt dat die kml file uit Google Earth ook in GSAK als filter gebruikt kan worden. Heb je helemaal geen pocket query meer nodig als de route door een gebied loopt waarvan je de caches toch al in GSAK hebt.

Sterker, je kunt in dat geval in GSAK ook rechtstreeks de MapSource.gdb file van de route in het filter gebruiken. Heb je ook Google Earth niet nodig .

De methode via Mapsource werkt wel, als je een route maakt ( met meerdere tussenpunten uiteraard) en deze dan bewaart met de gpx extentie in de naam. Dus bv route.gpx

In het type bestand dient ook te worden aangegeven dat het om een gpx bestand gaat. Vervolgens wordt het bestand geupload en dan wordt er wel een route gemaakt en geen rechte lijn.

Vraag me niet waarom het zo wel werkt en als .gpx niet in de bestandsnaam voorkomt niet, maar het is gewoon zo.

Hoe doe je dat dan, want ik heb het zojuist geprobeerd maar mij lukt het niet. Ik doe iets verkeerd of er is iets mis met mijn installatie, want ik krijg een foutmelding over een missend bestand, genaamd arcin.txt in de TEMP map van GSAK.

 

Het lijkt er op dat je niets verkeerd doet.

 

Nadat je in MapSource de route hebt gemaakt en bewaard als .gdb bestand, zijn de handelingen in GSAK als volgt:

1. Start de filter-functie

2. Ga naar het tabblad 'Arc/Poly'

3. Klik in het blokje 'Get points from a file' op 'Select file'.

4. Selecteer je .gdb bestand met de route.

5. Vul de maximale afstand in van een cache tot de route en GO

 

Arcin.txt wordt aangemaakt op het moment dat je onder stap 4 het .gdb bestand opgeeft. Je ziet dan als het goed is de routepunten daaruit verschijnen onder het kopje 'Arc/Polygon points' (dat dan ook geel wordt). Mogelijk gaat het daar mis.

En ik lees dat WinGDB het ook kan (google is your friend). Als je die file met de track ipv de route opent met GASK als line/polygon krijg je precies de caches langs de route, met een voldoende fijnmazig pad zodat de punten ook echt langs de route liggen. Werkt bij mij perfect. Ik heb het alleen nog niet in GSAK weten te automatiseren...

Het is niet altijd even makkelijk om Google Earth op te installeren als je geen admin rechten hebt. Terwijl routetool.exe gewoon van een USB stick draait.
