Deze was ook lachen ; nog meer nattigheid: De Jonge Onderzoekers found Linecrosser (Multi-cache): Gelogd 15:45u Vandaag samen met team JOLS op pad, een bootje gehuurd in Drimmelen en er lekker op uit in de Biesbosch. En inderdaad, zoals de vorige logger al beschreef, na wat spelevaren door Stroom- Zij- en Middelgaten kwamen wij via de Sloot van St. Jan muurvast te zitten op een zandbank. Onmiddellijk wierpen de dames zich op als vrijwilligers om het zaakje weer vlot te duwen. Dat ging boven verwachting goed, alleen verzuimden de dames weer aan boord te klimmen. Dat werd dus een stukkie zwemmen, jammer dat de watertemperatuur nog een beetje aan de lage kant was... Na loggen van 'Gemaal Oostkil', gevolgd door een heerlijke lunch ergens in de buurt van wat damwanden, de vaart er weer in gezet, via wat dakpannen richting bruggetje. Waren we hier al eens niet eerder geweest? De tellerij was vlug achter de rug; dus op naar de cache! Nadat deze zoetwaterschippers, als gevolg van de wind, met een fikse dreun tegen de bedoelde steiger aan waren gedreven, was de kist vlug gevonden. Er zaten inderdaad spinnetjes in, hoe is het mogelijk! We hebben de rubber afdichting en sluitrand wat proberen te reinigen, zodat dit hopelijk weer wat beter functioneert. Daarna hebben we nog even zitten nagenieten op een strandje in de buurt. We hebben een geweldige dag beleefd, in een prachtige omgeving. Deze is wat ons betreft een absolute aanrader! Vond deze destijds wel aardig: De Jonge Onderzoekers found El Peine de los Vientos (Traditional Cache) Logged 10:25h Well; this cache turned out to be a great adventure! Having to leave San Sebastian at about 11 o’clock to catch my plain back home, I decided there was some time left to try to find El Peine de los Vientos. The receptionist at the hotel assured me it was going to be low tide, so no worries. When arriving around 8:30u at the point were it becomes difficult I started to doubt a little about the low tide. This seemed to be impossible: the sea was quite deep, waves were pounding on the rocks, some of them spraying water meters high! So I decided to wait a little to see if circumstances would improve and made some pictures. Sorry to say I was too late to make a picture of some nuns, standing in their skirts on top of the blow holes, making an imitation of Marilyn Monroe. Almost, I still prefer the scene from ‘The Seven Year Itch’. Never knew they sell such enormous knickers! Some time later I asked an older man (he looked as if he could know about tide time tables), when it would be low tide. The man could only speak Spanish (unlike me) so with the use of our hand and feet it became clear to me the water would be ‘baja’ at 11 o’clock. From the logs I had understood the walk would be possible 2 to 3 hours before low tide, so in my case between 8 en 9 o’clock. Had these people been wearing diving suits? So I phoned my colleague who was still in the hotel, to ask if he could check the newspaper. This learned me the water was high at 8 and low at 2 o’clock. Mmmm; that explained a lot. So the walk could be done by the time I had to be driving back to the airport! I climbed down the rocks to sea level to check out if I could go for it anyway. I found I had to make a decision: giving up or becoming wet. A moment of carelessness and a wave three times bigger than the others made this decision needless. Since I now already was very wet, I decided to have a go at 9:30. The first bit seemed difficult, but there was a lot to come. Waiting for the bigger waves to stop, there were at least a couple of times my feet got wet again, with the last crossing proving to be the most difficult. So I arrived at the cache location shortly after 10; four hours before low tide! I wouldn’t advice anyone trying this, unless you are in desperate need of cooling down. The container was not easily found; at half past ten I was about to give up, when my eyes caught the right location. The cache needs some maintenance; the contents of the container are a little wet.
